V DAY or A Tribute to Yourself

To very dear YOU!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I roll my eyes every 14th of February seeing millions of couples falling into commercial traps and declaring each other love with trending #myvalentine. But this year I found myself thinking of Valentine’s Day slightly differently.

The Meriam-Webster Dictionary defines love as an intense feeling of strong affection. I close my eyes and allow myself to re-discover the meaning of love. Loves is…  something that wakes you up filled with enthusiasm and passion. Sometimes it is your morning cup of coffee. Sometimes it’s an early morning yoga class or a call from your best friend. I have recently discovered how much the sound of waves means to me, and how much calmness the sunset brings to my soul. When you find what makes your soul glow, give yourself unconditional permission to keep on doing it. You do not need approval or external validation. No one else needs to understand your choices. Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring. And never forget, there is no competition. Nobody can be you.

To ensure this feeling keeps burning inside you, you need to make time for it. The truth is everything requires at least a little bit of effort. To enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, you need to spare 10 minutes and to enjoy the glowing sunshine. In other words, you need to lift your head away from the phone and off your bed.

This Valentine’s Day please make time for something that gives you that intense feeling of strong affection. So whatever it is that makes you feel alive: red lipstick, ILM kimono (wink wink) or a coffee over a zoom with your best friend that you can never schedule a proper catch up. You owe it for yourself. It is important to take care of yourself, and always remember that you cannot give from an empty cup. Self-care is how you get your power back.

To celebrate this year's Valentine's day we are very excited to launch Isabella Lè Miliae's firstAMOR capsule. This capsule, exactly as the colors of its products, symbolizes purity, love, and strong relationships. Whether it's a wedding, friendship, or simply self- care. The relationship you have with yourself is essential to your own wellbeing and also to creating healthy and happy relationships with others. Being kind to yourself regularly is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
